Mentoring Young Creatives
“I have found it very helpful - I do believe it's one of its kind and I would not be able to ever meet my mentor by chance, or I would have to have been very lucky to meet anyone with whom I would develop such a relationship with.”
Mentoring Young Creatives helps provide guidance and support to improve the personal and professional lives of the young people within the creative industries. The programme unites what is otherwise a fragmented community, helping to reduce the risk of mental ill health to those most vulnerable.
After a highly successful first cohort, our second program launches on World Mental Health Day, 2022.
Hear from our Mentees
“Having a mentor has given me the motivation I needed to take action towards achieving my goals and helped me see things in perspective.”
“I think it's an outstanding coaching service which a lot of young people can benefit from when they're new to the industry and facing challenges alone, so it's good to have someone who's able to guide them and help them to change their mindset.”
“My mentoring with Sam has been incredible!!!….. if that even justifies how grateful I am for them. It still baffles me how in such little time my whole mindset has changed and grown so positively. I can’t imagine my career in modelling without Sam now! I am so grateful to have the opportunity to take part in all these workshops, mentoring and discussions. The bewellcollective has honestly been….. life changing!

Mentoring Young Creatives is a six month program designed to help support young adults aged between 16-25 years in the creative industry, providing guidance, support and a communication channel to work on preventable action against the rising concerns of mental health illness.
Whilst one in four people in the UK will experience a mental health issue each year, for those working in a creative role the likelihood of developing such an issue is three times greater. The levels of suicide are very high across all sectors, around 60% have thought about killing themselves, with 30% thinking about it in the past year. The numbers are alarming and we need to lift this taboo!
Mentoring Young Creatives creates a strong network within our community, matching mentors who have experienced and overcome mental health issues with young people. Mentors take on the role of friend, listener and mediator, to provide the mentee a safe place to share mental health struggles. Empowering them on a level to help improve self-worth, self-assurance and reduce loneliness and ill mental health.
