An aspect of health that is often overlooked, but nonetheless extremely important, is the health of ones feet. Especially for models who are constantly on the go, running across cities from casting to casting, walking the catwalk in towering heels or standing for long periods of time in ill-fitting, uncomfortable shoes can all play an impact on the health and comfort of ones feet.

We caught up with London podiatrist Dina Gohil of DG Podiatrist, to learn her top foot care tips for those tired, bruised and blistered feet.

Soak

The best way to give your feet an immediate relaxation after a long day in heels is to soak them in warm water with a handful of salt. This solutions helps relieve the stress from your feet soft tissue making them feel happier after 15mins.

If you are looking for a soak with a little extra boost to help relax the tired muscles in the feet and ankles, add Better You’s Magnesium Flakes Footsoak to help alleviate aches and pains of overworked foot muscles.

Trim

Ensure your nails have been cut correctly, meaning there are no sharp corners or they are not too long or short. This way no matter what type of footwear you will have to wear will feel more comfortable at the tip of your toes.

Massage

Massaging your feet with a foot cream will not only maintain and look after your skin but can also help improve circulation and make your feet feel better. At the end of the massage stretch your toes outwards and inwards as if you were to grab something with them. This will help keep them flexible.

Dina personally recommends CCS Foot Cream to help prevent dry and rough skin.

Elevate

Sleeping with your legs elevated at night can help relieve pain from the day before, especially when you have to be up bright and early the next day.

Support

Wearing supportive well structured trainers when not on a job and travelling will give your feet the support they need in the interim to keep you going longer.
